Job description
Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a major regional full-service securities broker/dealer headquartered in Philadelphia, is looking for a Director of Estate & Financial Planning.
The Director of Estate and Financial Planning will lead and direct the business strategies and services of Financial and Estate Planning.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads, directs and supervises staff on establishing and delivering on business plans. Motivates and inspires organization to attain superior performance levels. Provides coaching and mentoring to staff.
Sets measurable performance objectives and evaluates staff. Fosters teamwork and business partnerships across the organization.
Approves compensation actions for areas such as merit increases and promotions.
Develops and manages budget for department.
Keeps knowledge current on industry leadership standards and competitive best practices.
Works with other areas within Janney Montgomery Scott LLC to develop and promote cross-selling opportunities.
Supports financial consultants in the field as needed.
Participates with other Department Heads in setting strategic direction of JWM.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Certified Financial Planner designation required.
5+ years of related industry experience managing an organization.
Professional industry designations are preferred.
Strong management skills.
Ability to effectively manage resources.
Detail oriented.
Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Technically proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A strong team player who is cooperative.
Skilled at critical thinking and strategic planning.
