Job description
Are you looking to broaden your Tax career into International Tax and special projects? Our client, a global retail business, is looking to add an additional Tax Manager to their successful and growing Tax department.

The Tax Manager (Special Projects) will report to the Director of International and Federal Tax and will enjoy high visibility to senior management including regular contact with the CFO.

Day to day responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and reviewing U.S.and International income tax returns
• Overseeing the operation of a sophisticated tax processing system
• Conducting planning and research for a variety of tax issues
• Overseeing income tax audits including negotiating with federal, state and international tax authorities
• Analyzing and computing complex tax provisions and maintain a strong working knowledge of current tax laws
• Preparing and reviewing domestic and international tax returns
• Review tax returns prepared by the Tax Specialist
• Manage tax appeal process and prepare written arguments to submit to the taxing jurisdictions
• Research issues and complete computations to satisfy Transfer Pricing (Sec. 482) and Uniform Capitalization (Sec. 263A) requirements.

Who we are looking for
Candidates for the Tax Manager (Special Projects) should offer:
• Bachelor's degree with an Accounting or Business concentration
• Advanced credentials such as CPA, MST or JD preferred but not essential
• At least three years experience in public accounting or in a similar large corporate environment
• Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for large, multi- state publicly traded company.
• Comprehensive technical tax knowledge
• Working knowledge of FAS 109 preferred.
