Job description
Responsibilities :
•  Oversee certain aspects of the Institute's financial reporting requirements (including financial reports to sponsors and 990's)
•  Oversee and coordinate with external auditors on the A-133 audit
•  Oversee and recommend appropriate changes in accounting policies.
•  Supervise a staff of up to 5 individuals
•  Assist the Controller with day-to-day operations of the Division
•  Monthly reconciliation of all income received, including income from the Development Office and the Regional Offices
•  Accounts Receivable: recording of all Accounts Receivable activity in the records of the Institute and prepare reconciliation and reporting, such as aging of receivables
•  Review invoices for the Non-Government grants, contracts and contributions
•  Project reporting: prepare necessary reports for internal and external distribution (e.g., report to sponsors)
•  Create journal entries for reclassification of revenues and expenses from the various programs
•  Review and post journal entries prepared by Controller's Division staff
•  Maintain a variety of files, including, grants, contracts and agreements
•  Respond to accounting inquiries from program personnel
•  Review monthly reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
•  Assist with general ledger analysis, cash management, monthly closing process, quarterly financial statement preparation, and annual financial statement audit.

Who we are looking for
Qualifications:
•  Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
•  Bachelors Degree in Accounting and at least seven years of relevant government or not-for-profit accounting experience. Should be familiar with indirect cost structures
•  Knowledge of the principles and practices regarding FAS 116 & 117, grants and contracts accounting, including circular A-122 cost principles as it applies to A-133 audits
•  Proficiency with accounting software (not-for-profit accounting software preferred), PCs and MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet
•  Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments concurrently
•  Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills

What's on offer
Compensation is set between $90k and $105k dependent upon previous relevant experience.
