Job description
In this newly created and high profile role the Intellectual Property & Patent Attorney will report to the General Counsel and be a key member of the Senior Management team with full responsibility for intellectual property, patent, licensing and trademark activities across the Company.
Key responsibilities in this challenging role will include:
• Reviewing, assessing and maintenance of the current international patent portfolio
• Providing advice and assistance to the R&D function with patent drafting, applications and follow up for new products
• Supervision of collaboration with outside patent counsel
• Offering general patent advice, clearance and opposition opinions
• Lead and steer the IP litigation strategy
• Keeping up to date and knowledgeable concerning third party IP and industry IP trends
• Advise on and handle trademark/trade name issues
You will also be called on to assist the General Counsel with licensing, contract and other general legal issues.
Who we are looking for
Suitable candidates for the Intellectual Property & Patent Attorney role will be a qualified Attorney with 5+ years IP / Patent experience. Your extensive IP experience can either be gained at a Law Firm or from an In House role but must involve significant exposure to highly complex and technical industries (eg engineering, chemical or proprietary or manufacturing).
You must be an independent and proactive self starter, able to demonstrate leadership ability and enthusiasm for advancement and have a proven ability to advise and influence Management on a broad range of Intellectual Property issues.
What's on offer
Base Salary to $150,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits package.
