Job description
Aegis Insurance Services, Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager of Financial Reporting Processes and Controls. This individual will ensure a consistent, quality of reporting to Management, lead and be subject matter expert on latest reporting pronouncements applicable to AEGIS and manage day to day liaison with external Auditors. Day to day responsibilities include the following:
Organizing and Managing the monthly Management reporting closing processes
Managing two financial reporting professionals; monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the quality and timeliness of completion of tasks and assigned projects
Proposing and recommending improvements to the monthly and annual closing processes
Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the operation and effectiveness of Financial Reporting controls
Managing and performing work on ad-hoc tasks as necessary
Maintaining a current and approved set of Financial Reporting procedures as necessary
Managing the consolidation and internal allocation processes
Maintaining a current knowledge of external reporting requirements and communicating the potential accounting / operational impacts and associated accounting disclosure issues that would relate to AEGIS companies
Managing the information request and delivery processes with the External Auditors.
Who we are looking for
Required skills and experience:
Detailed and current knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Professional Accounting Qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA, ACA)
Exceptional writing, review and detailed analysis skills are required
Advanced excel skills
Supervisory experience
Proven ability to lead, manage and participate in multi-disciplinary teams
2-7 years working in Financial Services business Desired skills and experience
In depth knowledge of insurance accounting requirements a plus
Awareness of Insurance Statutory, UK and Canadian reporting requirements are a plus
Ability to work on multiple projects independently
Experience working in Property/Casualty Insurance businesses preferred
What's on offer
$100,000 - $150,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.
