Job description
The Senior Manager, Treasury Accounting is a newly created position having responsibility for the accounting and reporting by GMAC of all structured finance activities and derivatives/hedging. This position will be autonomous and will operate independently in providing financial leadership, strategic direction and recommendations both within the Department and with the finance staffs of the business units. Due to the size and complexity of GMAC's eight operating business units, the decentralized nature of GMAC and the culture of the organization, the Senior Manager, Treasury Accounting must possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills to develop solid relationships with finance and business executives across GMAC's diversified businesses and with GM. The Senior Manager, Treasury Accounting must be viewed by business unit finance executives and executive management as an effective leader.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain technical accounting expertise in areas relevant to securitization and other funding transactions and derivatives, modeling and fair value concepts.
• Provide accounting and analytical support to GMAC business units during structuring of new or complex secured financing transactions.
• Maintain the back office accounting and reporting activities for the North American Auto Financing business unit's treasury activities including the preparation, analysis and issuance of monthly servicer or other investor reports
• Lead high level / strategic projects under the direction of the Director of Treasury Accounting.
• Provide technical US GAAP accounting guidance and operational support to GMAC's international subsidiaries for transactions executed in international markets.
• Monitor technical accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting developments assess the impact on GMAC's business and coordinate with business units in implementation

Who we are looking for
• 10 plus years of technical accounting management experience in a large public accounting firm or large financial services institution
• Demonstrated experience and current knowledge of derivatives and structured finance accounting
• CPA required
