Job Description

To support the company's strategic initiatives and continued growth, my client is currently seeking top talent to join the Finance Department as an Accounting Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic finance team ready for extensive growth and expansion.

The Accounting Manager will play an integral role in the monthly close process as part of the accounting team. This person will be responsible for close related items, including: reconciling specific accounts with significant judgment and estimates, developing and documenting policies and procedures to enhance the monthly close process and strengthen internal controls, preparing complex journal entries, assisting with year-end audit and preparation of financial statements, providing technical support to management, and interfacing with management and external auditors. Main duties and responsibilities will include the follwing:

  • Prepare accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Review key account reconciliations monthly and communicate results to management.
  • Ensure that the books and records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Identify key controls and key control gaps in existing process cycles. Recommend and implement improvements when appropriate.
  • Review system and department procedures for appropriateness and identify opportunities for improvement in order to promote productivity and optimize results.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements with footnote disclosures.
  • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with appropriate internal departments to provide the objective of requested information and deliver information to audit teams on schedule.
  • Assist with year-end audit and preparation and coordination of year-end audit schedules, work as primary contact with auditors to answer questions and prepare analysis related to assigned areas/accounts.
  • Serve as a resource to accounting staff and assist in their training and coaching.
  • Assist other members of the accounting and finance team with the implementation of more complex accounting projects and initiatives.

This individual will have direct contact with most departments within the company, vendors and with the external auditors. This individual will work primarily with the Asst Controller, VP Controller, Operational Accounting etc.

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Public accounting experience (non-negotiable)
  • CPA (non-negotiable)
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, ideally having already taken the step out of public accounting
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, work well with others, identify issues along with potential resolutions.

What's on Offer

$110,000 to $120,000 base salary plus bonus.
