Job Description

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial statements.
  • Maintain and monitor adherence to the monthly accounting summary report
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end reporting, prepare accruals and schedules, and submit monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Develop innovative and effective solutions to problems in financial analysis and reporting
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries in the Great Plains general ledger
  • Assist in developing effective internal control systems.
  • Liaison with accounting software, system vendors and consultants
  • Conduct account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Assist in the company's monthly and year end closing schedule.
  • Assist in special projects whenever asked.
  • Review US GAAP standards for accounting treatment of transactions and ensure compliance with appropriate IFRS standards and corporate accounting policies.
  • Supervises, trains and develops staff
  • Establish and maintain good record of procedures and internal controls documentation.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Accounting Manager profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field


  • 6+ years of experience, must have experience managing a team


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), SAP and/or HFM


  • Retail industry a plus
