Job Description

In the newly created role reporting to the Vice President the Real Estate Acquisitions Director will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting and closing real estate investments across the firm's investments strategies in select U.S. markets. The Firm specializes in commercial and mixed-use properties and they are targeting individuals who have strong market knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze select real estate markets and market niches to delineate investment themes and targets.
  • Identify, underwrite, negotiate and perform due diligence on new investments.
  • Communicate and negotiate with partners, brokers and sellers of property.
  • Develop and originate optimal capital structure for investments.
  • Oversee analytical functions to value real estate using Argus, Excel and other financial tools.
  • Prepare and present Investment Committee recommendations.
  • Monitor and communicate with the capital markets regarding equity capital, fund investment/formation, debt markets and deal structures.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree with MBA strongly preferred. Candidates should have 7+ years of experience with real estate investment. Other attributes we are targeting:

  • Experience with complex financial modeling / strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience in Argus a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in the real estate industry
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with an ability to operate independently, in small deal teams and with a large amount of individual responsibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What's on Offer

Basic salary ideally in the $140,000-170,000 plus strong bonus. Some flexibility within reason for top performers who have demonstrated track record of success in a similar firm.
