Job Description

* Act as a subject matter expert on Corporate Actions for clients and management.
* Responsible for reviewing and approving the operational output of the offshore team to ensure 100% accuracy on corporate actions activity.
* Responsible for approving Corporate Action announcements sent to internal/external clients, approving FX and Currency movements and reviewing accuracy of postings
* Review system control reports to ensure completion of critical processing requirements on restructures, cashless rolls, loan extensions and related cost transactions
* Review file folders for completion and compliance with operating procedures and execution of risk controls
* Maintain forthcoming diary of Corporate Actions, liaising with Portfolio Managers and ensure all future corporate actions are documented accurately
* Provide support and backup to the Agency team working on new Structured Asset deals
* Oversee the daily management and operation of the reconciliation process including Cash, Par and Non Custody reconciliations across all funds.
* Identify critical breaks and ensure timely closing of open reconciliation items, assisting with complex recon items and providing both verbal and written status updates to management.
* Work closely with Fund Accounting and other Groups in managing their expectations for month/quarter/year end breaks
* Oversight of the offshore team, identify areas for improvement and maintain record of any issues.
* Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators for both reconciliations and corporate actions
* Maintain customer relationships at senior level and handle escalated customer requests and queries.
* Work with the AVP on new projects, restructurings and complex facilities
* Influencing and participating in decisions on policies/procedures designed to ensure compliance with internal, legal and regulatory policies and ensure changing business requirements are met.
* Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve process efficiencies and increase risk mitigation
* Participate in meetings representing corporate actions, recon and participate in department initiatives such as system enhancements, off hours testing and new business conversions as necessary
* Populate and present MIS to loans senior management with updates on the projects involved

The Successful Applicant


* Minimum five years of investment management operations experience, corporate actions, reconciliation experience preferred
* Experience working with an outsource/offshore service provider
* Strong fixed-income product knowledge, particularly bank loans
* Complete understanding of all corporate actions procedures, corporate actions events and market practices.
* Understanding of Reconciliations process and Investment Administration
* Familiarity with distributions and physical certificates.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel - knowledge of formulae a must (e.g. "vlookup")
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word
* Knowledge of Wall Street Office and Geneva (preferred)

* Extremely detailed oriented with a proven track record for accuracy
* Customer service orientation is a must with excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organization and time management skills
* Strong control focus and ability to challenge streamline processes
* Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
* Able to deal with client in a professional way offering 1st class service standards
* Demonstrates initiative with regard to increasing own knowledge and assuming additional responsibility.
