About Our Client

Fast-paced, growing Non-profit, located in Manhattan, is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller with 2+ years experience in the non-profit sector.

Job Description

Human Resource Responsibilities

  • Helps to oversee personnel policies and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Assists with the annual performance evaluation process



Payroll Responsibilities

  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Assist with payroll functions, including data submissions, pay statement distribution, and record maintenance



Financial & Accounting Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Controller and the bookkeeper
  • Maintains and produces financial reports and reconciliations
  • Assists in audits

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or other business subjects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Highly organized, analytical, detail oriented
  • Excellent decision making, customer service, and conflict management skills
  • Experience with human resource functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with financial accounting software and database software
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization
