Job Description

Our client is a well-established and reputable nonprofit, non-sectarian community development organization celebrating 40 years in North Brooklyn. They provide resident and community services to transform loves of low and moderate income people through employment, education, housing and health care.

The Assistant Director of Operations will lead and manage a team of Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers for the East, West and South clusters of the portfolio. You will manage capital budgets for any improvement works, ensuring any remedial and ongoing works are completed on time and to the highest quality standards and provide the interface between the Property Management and Construction teams and any 3rd party contractors.

You will train and mentor the existing team to develop their technical and managerial skills, whilst also being the lead manager for new hires into the Property team.

Alongside this, the Assistant Director of Operations will ensure that all properties adhere to robust compliance standards, HPD regulatory agreements and NYC Law. You will sign of on HQS Section 8 inspections and advise of any issues and escalations as they arise…

This role will require the Assistant Director of Operations to be out on site, therefore you must be able to manage your own diary and be able to multi task efficiently

The Successful Applicant

In order to be consider, you MUST be able to display the following:

- A track record in delivering property management services for affordable housing clients

- Financial and budget management experience

- Affordable housing compliance knowledge, particularly section 8

- Team leadership experience with a track record of developing individuals

- The ability to work autonomously
