Founded in 1947, our client has created and perfectionned the art of shoes. Offering great ballerinas, accessories and handbags, they expand their brand to the US. After multiple success-stories in Europe and Asia, they are opening their 1st store in NYC. Located in the heart of Soho, their 1,500sq ft store will be the first of many opening in the US.

Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the overall management of the store, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Developing sales
  • Attracting new customers, building customer loyalty & clienteling
  • Maintaining outstanding customer service and brand welcome & visual standards throughout the stores
  • Implementing and constantly optimizing merchandising
  • Managing the team (hiring, training, supervision, motivation, development)
  • Managing the store administrative work & operations (work organization, inventory management, indicators analysis)
  • Constantly forecasting the needs of the stores
  • Being a constant help for the Store Manager

The Successful Applicant


  • Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager previous experiences

Desired Skills

  • Ability and proven record of:
  • increasing sales volume, meeting and exceeding sales targets - developing customer base and increasing customer loyalty
  • implementing company's merchandising directives on time, suggesting improvements and best practices
  • learning about new products and constantly staying informed about the industry
  • developing and maximizing individual strengths, communicating feedbacks on a regular basis to both team members and corporate, developing staff loyalty to reduce turnover
  • analyzing store key indicators to adjust priorities
  • constantly forecasting store needs to optimize staff work and organization, stock levels and re-orders, suggesting administrative and operations improvements and best practices

Other requirements

  • Interest for shoes and/or dance
  • Fluent in English, fluency in additional languages (e.g French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese) a plus
  • Fluent with retail POS systems

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays as business dictates
