Code and Zoning Consulting firm looking for Sr Project Manager
About Our Client
NYC Code Consulting and Expediting firm is rapidly expanding due to growth. The company has only been around for 10 years, so it has a vibrant, startup vibe. They are a full-service expediting and consulting firm for their client base with 6 divisions covering Alterations for new buildings and interiors, permits/renewals, DOT permits, Violations and Certificate of Occupancy.
Looking for a Sr Project Manager proficient in Building Code & Zoning Consulting. The candidate should be skilled with NYC Building and Zoning Code and able to apply them to DOB filings and procedures. Candidate should be able to work within a team as well as comfortable in leadership roles. Individuals must have 3-5 years experience in the field of expediting. Your role will be to Responsibilities include: * Proficient knowledge in NYC Building and Zoning Code as well as ALT 1 and Expediting. * Experienced with the Department of Buildings filing system and procedures * Knowledgeable with related city agencies that require filings parallel with the DOB; i.e Landmarks, DOF, DOT, and HPD. * Able to create, communicate and execute filing/approval strategies with clients and co-workers * Manage a team of 2-3 members * MUST be client-facing and have a professional demeanor when interacting with design professionals and high level Department of Buildings personnel. * Track and work with all 6 of the company's divisions to ensure that each division is communicating with each other as amendments are made daily to paperwork filings which affects deadlines. * Review and organize documentation such as Alteration Type 1 and New Building applications * Perform in-house code reviews, zoning studies, and troubleshoot projects through to resolution. * Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
The Successful Applicant
* Architecture degree OR Bachelors of Science in Architecture * Previous construction experience * MUST be able to hit the ground running without needing training on how to perform and understand the job. * Solutions-oriented - as the glue and expediter between each division, you will need to be able to predict problems and offer solutions using your knowledge/experience of coding/zoning. * Able to take a job from inception to completion (typically 2-3 years) and reach out to clients, understand/obtain the scope of work and manage all filings and moving parts associated while working with the DOB. * Experience working with ALT 1, Building and Zoning Code, DOB, DOT and Expediting.
