About Our Client

My client is a specialist intermediary broker service to commercial banks, investment banks and other liquidity providers in the wholesale financial markets.

Job Description

Moves, changes and construction works:

  • Space planning using AutoCAD software
  • Project management, including status reporting, producing project proposals, etc.
  • Procurement of furniture, filing systems, stock control, and purchase orders, etc.
  • Space allocation, measurement and management
  • Liaising with directors, department heads, contractors, IT building infrastructure, desktop & comms teams to ensure a seamless approach to all aspects of moves and changes



Facilities systems - including management, negotiation of contracts, implementation and support:

  • Helpdesk and resource booking
  • CADM move management software, including the upkeep of master drawings, dealing with space queries, etc.
  • Lighting control - including programming and system/component management
  • Building management system - in depth background and operational knowledge
  • Security systems including access control



Management of M&E service provider - close liaison with building engineers/management including coordinating frequent review meetings

Management of M+E plant & Infrastructure - including management of associated maintenance contracts

  • On-floor air-conditioning
  • Computer room critical air-conditioning units and associated controls
  • UPS and electrical distribution system
  • PPM (pre-planned maintenance) regime and co-ordination of resulting remedial works
  • Arrangements for electrical testing



24/7 Point of contact - first response to critical BMS alarms on a 24/7 basis. Also first point of call with the landlord's security and building maintenance teams, which could involve frequent out of hours calls during unsociable hours

Management of building fabric:

  • Coordinating and liaison to facilitate any repairs to walls, decor floors ceilings and structure



Responsible for notifications, records, procedure documents and policies:

  • Maintaining electronic records - responsible for the set up and ongoing electronic storage of risk assessments, method statements, procedures, records and drawings
  • Documenting and producing procedures for key facilities systems
  • Regular updates to inform local and regional teams of planned facilities works and reactive issues

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering is a must
  • Strong electrical and mechanical background
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook etc.)
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff of all levels
  • Appropriate mechanical and electrical qualifications
  • Electrical bias with an excellent understanding of electrical/mechanical plant and all business critical systems including UPS, BMS, HVAC and controls
  • Proven track record in delivering planned and reactive maintenance, preferably within a financial company
  • Sound technical building management knowledge including hands on operations
  • Previous experiences of managing a maintenance team and contractors
  • A strong understanding of data center/comms room cooling and power
  • Project management of M&E, construction and moves and changes
