Our client is a global manufacturing group, with mining operations across the world. This position supports one of the mining businesses in the United States.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Controlling, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Business Analysis: Uses deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provides insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems· Creates financial models, research and analyses of trends, leading indicators and business statistics· Utilizes data infrastructure by extracting, aggregating, and dissecting financial data and performance metrics; highlights findings for management review. Benchmarking.
  • Business Partnering: Partners with Key Stakeholders and Business Partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Manages supplier relationship to achieve desired financial and operational goals. Constructively communicates compelling arguments based on facts and data, and obtains necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives.
  • Strategic Planning and Initiatives: Supports Finance leadership in assisting management to develop strategies and initiatives to drive margin improvements. Assists in the development of business cases and recommendations on operational strategies focused on business growth/market presence and margin improvement. Owns the execution of chosen operational strategies.
  • Financial Operational Policy: Ensures continued compliance with Procurement and Finance policies and procedures.
  • Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities: Produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports. Responsible for financial reporting accuracy; partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners
  • Safety:Personally committed to building and maintaining the highest standards of safety, through one's own actions and leading others. Factor in safety considerations to financial acquisition and other Business development opportunities. Demonstrated commitment to achieving the highest standards in Health, Safety and Environment. Ensure compliance with the safety standards and be proactive in safety issues.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • A degree in mining engineering, business administration, or finance
  • CPA or MBA are a big plus



Work Experience

  • At least 2 years' experience in the mining industry ideally with financial modeling expertise.
  • Planning exposure, and working knowledge and experience of financial simulation software are an advantage.

What's on Offer

This position is a local business partner to the mining group, but with very high exposure to corporate headquarters in the US. and Europe.

We are looking for a local professional based in West Virginia.

We will offer a reloation package if you have experience in mining in a similar position and already has experience in the U.S domestic market.
