Job Description

The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for following:

Business Results -

  • P&L Responsibility/Accountability
  • Value Creation (continual cost improvement, identifying profitable new business opportunities and value based pricing)
  • Meeting annual plan and growth in the value for all military product lines & business unit
  • Leading a team of sales, engineering and manufacturing personnel to create real intrinsic value



Scope of Responsibility -

  • Leadership of a cross functional business unit team (sales, operations, engineering, and quality)
  • New business generation, proposal preparation, bookings/orders, developing & maintaining customer relationships and contract negotiation
  • Establishing the yearly business plan
  • Overseeing operating activities to ensure good customer service and cost objectives are met





This position focuses heavily on value creation and focuses on details of value creation.

The Successful Applicant

The preferred candidate for the Business Unit Manager should have a full understanding of business unit operations, income statements & top line revenue growth, how/where to cut costs to increase profitability, and overall value creation.



Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (TECHNICAL DEGREE AND MBA HIGHLY DESIRABLE)
  • 5 years' experience which includes roles of increasing responsibility with least 3 years' experience in a management or leadership role with broad business knowledge in: sales, engineering, finance and operations
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry preferred
  • Management experience with direct reports
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Legal authorization to work in the US
  • Action and results oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Candidates should have very strong communication and inter-personal skills.
