About Our Client

Our client is a great company are a $100mm US division of Fortune 500 business. They are growing nicely at over 15% year on year and contributing well to the wider group.

The business has recently moved into two new markets and is showing very good margins selling directly through distribution channels and direct B2B.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance department including all aspects of financial planning,
  • Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation
  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS and the Company's accounting policies
  • Prepare regular payment reports to ensure that creditors are paid within due terms
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and maintain adequate documentation of key controls and daily accounting, as well as monthly closing activities
  • Prepare control checklists and other documents in accordance with the related company policies for review and approval by CFO
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory tax declarations, returns and statements
  • Hire, manage and develop a small team of three accountants in 2016.
  • Confirmation process with third-party vendors and customers,
  • Intercompany reconciliation process on a monthly basis.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications:

  • Degreed Accountant (ideally graduated from a public accounting firm) with 7 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or a similar field and possess several years of accounting experience
  • Accounting certification required, additional experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the detailed mechanics of financial statement preparation, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Generally Accepted accounting Principles in the United States (US GAAP) knowledge
  • Experience in the preparation of accounts following IFRS
  • Exposure to SAP very useful
  • Experience in the use and application development of a consolidation system (eg. Hyperion)
