Job Description

  • Manage projects to ensure superior communication and minimize delays in the product introduction process.
  • Coordinate activities with material planning to reduce supply chain disruptions.
  • Create and implement procurement strategies and procedures for obtaining commodities/projects for different sites
  • Engage with manufacturing, technical, legal, engineering and other cross-functional groups within the business
  • Maintain vendor/supplier relationships, responsible for sourcing/buying processes
  • Launch and maintain a strong site support network to acquire all site managed services/materials in timely fashion
  • Define, refine and execute best in class sourcing strategies for your commodity
  • Negotiate contract prices/changes
  • Coordinate purchasing best practices with other members of procurement team
  • Process improvement activities to help drive total cost out of your commodity

The Successful Applicant

Candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management. Applicants should have 5+ years' experience in sourcing/procurement for direct materials, including 3+ years' experience in a leadership role. Experience with procuring of items such as fittings, valves, harnesses, and motors is helpful. Prior, experience with procuring electronics and plastics is a plus. This is an ideal role for someone at a Senior Specialist level who wants to fast track their career and take it to the next level. Additionally we are looking for:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Professional certification a plus (e.g APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional, Institute of Supply Management etc.)
  • SAP or similar ERP knowledge and experience

What's on Offer

$70,000 to $90,000 plus benefits; local candidates are those with specific plans to relocate to Houston only.
