About Our Client

Our client is a large international OEM supporting the Big three in the US and the wider Automotive industry in Europe and Japan. Due to a tremendous uptick in business (based off strong sales force and new product lines) they are looking for a Controller to support their US and Mexico businesses. The Controller position (there is no CFO) is the right hadn't person for the COO and will have a hand in policy and direction discussions to help develop the business.

Job Description

  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Manage the Cashflow on a weekly basis and ensuring the company is in a positive cash position
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Reporting to parent company fulfilling reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly, manage credit process (Credit limit approvals and insurances).
  • Process payroll in a timely manner
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Ensure and operate duty drawback process.
  • Manage outside companies/contractors.

The Successful Applicant

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or at least four years of relevant work experience (public accounting and/or manuacturing industry preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and nimble with technology
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Works efficiently under pressure and meets deadlines
  • Exercises good judgment, respects colleagues, and works with integrity
  • Ability to be hands-on when necessary

What's on Offer

Our client is looking to pay $120,000 - $140,000 + Bonus for this role. The COO who this reports to is great and will be a terrific mentor.
