About Our Client

Our client for the Director Automotive OEM Sales - Americas opportunity is a global manufacturer of specialty automotive solutions with operations and manufacturing facilities in over 30 countries, and over 15 locations in the Americas.

Job Description

  • Manage regional sales leaders to execute sales strategy and objectives
  • Develop, lead, and implement strategic business development and sales commercial strategy for existing and new business opportunities
  • Work with regional leaders to grow regional sales teams by hiring and developing successful talent
  • Conduct market research in order to development a commercial business plan on new product development and markets
  • Develop strong customers relationships with new potential customers leading customer presentations globally
  • Stay abreast of industry and market trends and understand customer needs
  • Play a key role in the management team as a leader in the business with a high level of visibility
  • Manage a sales team of 10 direct reports and dotted line to manufacturing, warehouse, customer service, corporate, etc.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Chemical, Chemistry, Plastics, or similar
  • Must have high technical aptitude and able to speak knowledgeably on technical applications
  • At least 10 years of sales and/or business development experience with automotive OEMs and Tiers
  • Minimum 3 years of sales management experience
  • Proven sales track record selling custom solutions identifying customer needs and building strong customer relationships
  • Ability to understand and identify key market trends, with strategic market development experience
  • Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead, train, mentor, and implement best sales practices for a large sales team of 50 or more

What's on Offer

Competitive base salary $150,000 - $165,000, bonus, company car, phone, computer, credit card, full benefits, 401K.
