Our client is a leader in polymer, adhesive, and chemical manufacturing for the mining, marine, and transportation industries. As the company produces products across three industries, the Director of Sales will be responsible for overseeing all three operations and creating new strategic plans to help grow each sector individually.

Job Description

The Director of Sales will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop, organize, and manage National Sales organization (4 direct reports with 24 territory managers under them).
  • Develop both short and long term strategic Commercial plans. Monitor implementation of these plans and adjust to ensure achievement of plan revenue.
  • Responsible for coordinating customer insight development or Market Segment Focus initiatives that have long term strategic value to the division or company.
  • Provide a monthly territory report which includes pertinent account data as it relates to sales volumes, distributor involvement, and competitive information.
  • Plan and lead National Sales Meetings, be an active participant in trade shows and otherwise be a presence in the field.

The Successful Applicant

The Director of Sales should possess the following qualifications:

  • BS degree (MBA a plus)
  • 8-10 years of Sales management experience
  • Experience within industrial manufacturing. Previous experience in chemical manufacturing and /or with adhesives in the Mining, Marine or Commercial Transportation industries preferred.
  • Proven experience in a Sales Leadership role with a track record of sales growth and organic growth achievement and experience in developing and implementing a strategic sales plan.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface at all levels within the organization and external contacts.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of time throughout the US and Canada
