About Our Client

Major media company headquartered in Brooklyn NY rapidly expanding in various areas of business.

Job Description

Lead technical accounting research and evaluation in a variety of areas, work cross functionally to ensure appropriate treatment and prepare memos and analysis supporting conclusions.

Monitor, interpret and implement new accounting standards, as applicable.

Work closely with the Corporate M&A team on understanding accounting implications of terms and conditions of investments and business combination arrangements.

Facilitate/coordinate the process of implementing new standards and accounting changes to ensure the Company is prepared to comply at the necessary time.

Owner of the technical accounting and accounting policy processes with responsibility for updating, integrating and maintaining enterprise wide accounting policies.

Assist with management of the monthly close process in accordance with US GAAP.

Interface with external auditors for annual audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentation.

Participate in special projects or ad-hoc analysis in support of finance department and company initiatives.

Prepare and ensure appropriate accounting related to the Company's share-based compensation expense.

The Successful Applicant

A minimum of [8 to 12] years of experience working across accounting and reporting processes, including concluding on complex accounting and reporting issues.

Mix of public company experience and Big 4 audit experience preferred.

Technical accounting experience

Proven core accounting and finance qualifications. Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and U.S. GAAP accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting systems, spreadsheets, databases, business analytics applications and complex billing systems.

Hands-on involvement at multiple levels of the finance team and throughout the organization.

Ability to manage, motivate and develop other professionals.

Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate within the Company at all levels.
