National Real Estate Developer and Investment Firm that is growing their multifamily platform out of their Austin, TX office.

Job Description

Our client is a national multifamily housing developer and this position will be located in their Austin, TX office. Due to growth of their portfolio, they are seeking a Vice President/Director of Acquisitions who will be responsible for driving continued growth of the platform. Working closely with the site acquisitions and development teams the Director/VP of Acquisitions will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, acquiring and arranging financing for multifamily (and other) housing opportunities. The Director of Acquisitions will work closely with internal partners and external equity partners on every aspect of the acquisitions process.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Maintain and develop relationships with networks of brokers, servicers and lenders to identify opportunities of multifamily housing properties
  • Evaluate through review of materials and site visits to determine whether a particular opportunity meets the Company's investment criteria
  • Present opportunities to the executive team
  • Assist with thorough, qualitative underwriting including market trends, credit review, economic analyses, etc.
  • Serve as primary contact on deal internally and with outside consultants
  • Spearhead the process from signing of LOI to closing
  • Prepare underwriting package for lenders and investors
  • Review and negotiate loan term sheets, all legal documents, including partnership agreements, as applicable

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred along with 10+ years of relevant industry experience. Other qualities we are targeting:

  • Established network of brokers and lenders in the central Texas/Austin market, prefer exposure to urban and high density multifamily exposure.
  • Prior experience doing real estate market research and building an acquisitions strategy (must go beyond basic deal support)
  • Hands on multifamily development project experience a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to defend your position
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Works well as part of a team and with a diverse group of personalities

What's on Offer
