About Our Client

Our client is a Division on a Fortune 100 business with operations worldwide. They are a manufacturing business focused on hi-tech components that support the medical field including diagnostics and testing. The business has grown significantly in the last 5 years and is forecast for further development as procedures get more complex and detailed.

Job Description

  • Financial planning: Manage Operations and Engineering financial planning process for all quarterly, annual and strategic financial plans (including working capital and cost saving targets).
  • Ensuring required functions are provided with quality navigation, forecasting and business planning tools and procedures that focus on decision making to maximize profit and cash. Including the communication and presentation of financial plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor functional adherence to agreed financial targets.
  • Management & financial information: Ensuring balance sheet and reconciliation integrity; data accuracy, including material and vendor master; enabling efficient, effective and accurate management information.
  • Cost control: Robust and consistent cost control, including the tracking of target benefits and understanding of monthly variances. Including product and standard costing ownership.
  • Inventory: control, analysis, discipline of using ERP and overall inventory reduction planning.
  • Continuing improvements in inventory transparency and decision making. Includes financial responsibility for the S&OP process.
  • Commercial: Ensuring close commercial interaction between the finance function and the operations/engineering teams, in order to understand and influence commercial activities and business decision-making. Includes leading financial value assessments of footprint and capacity requirements.
  • Capital allocation: The verification of expenditures requests, benefits and post completion reviews.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics
  • Six plus years, at least two of which should have been in a similar role.
  • Strong commercial acumen/business partnering
  • Experience of ERP implementations, standard costing regimes and variance analysis, business case and analytical techniques, of project implementation for major process change and/or restructuring schemes, dispute resolution and commercial contract negotiations.
  • Experience gained within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment

This role has great visibility within the division and has a salary of $100,000 - $110,000 + 10% Bonus.
