Job Description

A media company in New York City is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Financial Analyst to their staff. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Financial Analyst to gain valuable work experience and further their career with an established company in Manhattan

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Budgeting and forecasting: Annual, monthly, weekly
  • Financial reporting: Review month end close for operating results of the businesses, through EBITDA, analyzing results to current estimate, budget and historical results.
  • Business and financial analysis: Track, analyze and report on key financial and operational drivers to measure performance against strategic and operational goals
  • Financial modeling: Develop financial models to support new and existing business initiatives, product development, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects
  • Collaborate on operating and financial bench-marking via industry data analysis
  • Create financial forecasts and valuation models to evaluate corporate development and acquisition initiatives

The Successful Applicant


  • 4 year college degree with major or minor in finance, accounting, business, engineering, economics, mathematics or other quantitative subject; MBA, MS and/or CFA certification preferred
  • 3 to 7 years of progressive finance experience including financial modeling, valuation, financial planning & analysis, business unit budgeting, and management reporting, with dynamic companies of size ideal
  • Experience in digital/new media and/or technology markets preferred
  • Highly skilled in business and financial modeling; exceptional knowledge of Excel
  • Experience/facility with enterprise financial systems is a plus
  • Independent thinker with proven ability to think through problems and present solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team and communications skills
  • Flexible, able to work in fluid and leanly-staffed environment with multiple on-going projects and tight deadlines, and able to work long hours when needed
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines without direct supervision
  • Decisive and thoughtful: able to set priorities and manage expectations
  • Sense of urgency, accountability, initiative and desire to win
