About Our Client

Our client is a leading fund, property and asset management provider with a focus on senior living and low income housing (LIHTC) throughout USA who are actively seeking a Financial and Asset manager to join their team in Austin, TX.

Job Description

  • Have the ability to create and manipulate excel worksheets.
  • Must be able to understand financial metrics success, DSCR, occupancy, financial variances, and audited financials.
  • Independently monitor the activities of property management firms responsible for the daily operations of the properties through appropriate, accurate, timely, and detailed assessments and reports. These reports along with your prioritized triage of issues are presented to the Senior Vice President.
  • Represent ownership concerns and coordinate with property managers, project managers, accountants, architects, attorneys, and other development team members to ensure that lease-up, marketing and outreach and maintenance of waiting lists are handled in accordance with the management plan and all regulatory requirements and, that goals for development are met on time.
  • Perform site inspections. Oversee physical risk management. Monitor property management activities as relates to physical plant to ensure that accurate record keeping, compliance and conformance to regulations are met.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend capital improvement and replacement projects in the agency's operating portfolio, including potential energy efficiency retrofits.
  • Coordinate with property management to update management and marketing plans. Oversee and assist with obtaining lender and partner approvals.
  • Review and analyze monthly property financial statements for reporting to the Asset Management Senior Vice President. Oversees and manages finances to meet year-end expectations for cash. Prepares and presents progress reports to the Senior Vice President, as requested.
  • Analyzes multi-year budgets and reserves to determine how to meet future physical needs. Commissions reserves studies and oversees that process. Works to create, review, and hold property management accountable for annual operating budgets. Coordinates with portfolio team to ensure implementation of multi-year plans and coordination with property management, and HRED Project Managers.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be highly experience in multifamily and the underwriting of LIHTC and or Senior living Assets. Alongside this you must posses the following:

  • Min of 2 - 5 years of financial real estate experience
  • Strong multifamily and LIHTC experience
  • Good understanding of Microsoft excel and ARGUS experience
  • Computer literacy in office automation and various software applications using spreadsheets, word processing, and databases. Intermediate level of proficiency in Outlook and demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets and reports with Excel. Experience with Access databases is desired.
