About Our Client

Mid-sized and growing PR agency in New York City is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the finance and accounting.

Job Description

  • Perform monthly closing duties and produce required reports
  • Manage all accounting duties including financial statements, budgets, taxes, and bank reconciliations
  • Provide Financial analysis and reporting on monthly results to company owner as required
  • Assist with annual financial statement audit
  • Hands on responsibility for all bookkeeping activities including accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Resolve discrepancies and handle vendor queries
  • Process and post deposits to bank accounts
  • Reconcile outstanding checks; process 1099's

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Financial Controller will have:

  • 10-15 years accounting experience in a client services industry (marketing, public relations, advertising, etc.)
    Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA & CPA a plus
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, federal and state tax and financial regulations
  • Possess a professional and positive demeanor
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and be assertive
  • Detail oriented self-starter with a willingness to take ownership and follow through
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Solomon a plus
