Job Description

This position will be accountable to identify and lead business efforts that optimized transportation cost, transit times, carrier reliability, risk management and strategic business unit needs that support global business growth and financial objectives.

The manager will support the Director's efforts associated with transportation contract & rate negotiations, carrier relations and decision support for commercial air, rail, truck, and water systems transportation needs on a global basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: RFI/RFP management, spot rate procurement, contract management, business continuity planning and execution associated with the transportation providers, contract management and records retention.

This person actively manages relationships with external transportation and or service providers (3PL) as well as key internal stakeholders. This role will integrate corporate and regional objectives by managing global relationships with transportation operational business leaders on corporate projects, contract negotiations, business continuity efforts, and transportation solutions to help develop and maintain optimal operating plans/ budgets.

Responsibilities include the daily management of all transportation issues that may impact the flow of goods, benchmarking activities through approved sources and collaborative networking opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

Must have experience (5+ years) in logistics operations, both with internal and 3PL or 4PL resources
* Extensive experience in outsourcing logistics services, including the clear definition of requirements and compliance metrics, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier and contract management
* Extensive experience in import/export from one region of the world to/from others is required others required.
* Significant experience in import/export across multiple countries

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related technical field.
    MBA or equivalent with specialization in operations and/or logistics preferred.
