About Our Client
A New York City Quantitative Hedge Fund is looking an Operations Analyst. Covering all aspects of complex trading operations, this key role sits at the intersection of trading and finance. The Analyst is expected to contribute substantially to trading operations by handling trade processing, investigating trade and position breaks, working with counterparties, analyzing corporate actions, and monitoring securities lending. The role also includes developing analytical tools and devising streamlined procedures for entering new markets and launching funds.
- Lift the performance of our trading operations by monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling trade and position breaks; by liaising with prime and executing brokers, fund administrators, and other counterparties; and by catching, fixing, and averting systemic issues.
- Improve existing procedures and create smarter ones, often in collaboration with many of the firm's teams, such as trading systems monitoring, treasury, accounting, portfolio management, and risk.
- Fulfill various reporting and disclosure needs by partnering with our compliance team.
- Facilitate the growth of our algorithmic strategies by designing and implementing procedures for entering markets, trading new financial instruments, and launching funds.
- Hone our decision-making process by structuring and analyzing our post-trade-related data in illuminating ways.
- Assess the effect of pending corporate actions on our portfolios and flag voluntary actions for portfolio managers.
- Deploy operational improvements that propel our firmwide risk management efforts.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in math, information systems, finance or some other analytical/engineering field from an excellent academic program.
- 1-3 years of experience at a top-tier multi-strategy investment firm or investment bank.
- Strong, meticulous data analysis and Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complicated issues and to advance multifaceted projects.
- Programming experience (especially SQL) or a keen desire to acquire it.
- Knowledge of the trade lifecycle is a plus.
