Job Description

The HR Generalist is responsible for carrying out the administrative tactics and logistics that support new and existing HR programs, processes and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the firm.

Other Key Duties Include:

  • Provide logistical support for the hiring process (both for internal and external applicants) including scheduling interviews, processing background check and drug testing, assembling offer letters and packets, inputting new hires into payroll and other HRIS systems;
  • Coordinate new hire, termination, and open enrollment benefits packets and process changes in HRIS systems accordingly;
  • Provides assistance in the areas of staffing, recruitment, salary administration, and new employee orientation;
  • Ensures onboarding process is followed to enable new hire to start with appropriate assets;
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining personal records, file maintenance, in compliance with applicable legal requirements;
  • Respond to requests for employment information as in verifications, unemployment etc.
  • Responds to basic inquiries from employees and management and/or facilitate the resolution of basic employee questions including questions regarding payroll, expense reimbursement, benefits, and questions regarding standard policies from the Employee Handbook;
  • Prepare paperwork required to place employee on payroll and establish personnel file;
  • Prepare and maintain STD/ LTD/ FMLA leave files;
  • Track PTO (Paid Time Off) for field sales personnel;
  • Special projects as assigned;
  • Operate in accordance with federal and state employment laws.

The Successful Applicant

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field;
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of related experience;
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information & a high level of discretion;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Requires experience working within a department requiring confidentiality and a high level of discretion
  • Prefer candidates who have experience in a coordinator or generalist role within a Human
  • Resources department with experience in file management, benefits, HRIS Systems, and leave of absence administration;
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written;
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite.
