Job Description

The Inventory Allocation Analyst will:

  • Manage inventory on new launches for each retailer
  • Allocate inventory to retailers based on existing sales
  • Manage the retailer's replenishment shipping plan
  • Work closely with retailers to avoid out of stock issues
  • Negotiate for optimal stock levels with each retailer to allow for field to obtain sales goals
  • Establish weekly quantity ranges by sku and by retailer for each Retailer PO to facilitate appropriate allocation of inventory
  • Reconcile seasonal purchase plan quantities with actual shipments to retailers regarding newness, and advise retailers on inventory availability throughout the season on a rolling basis
  • Work with Sales Forecasting Manager to direct transfer orders based on current inventory, consumption rates, and incoming PO's
  • Collaborate with production planning to estimate run out dates on an ongoing basis
  • Work with Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning / Production Planning / Retail Marketing to ensure inventory is available for promotional events
  • Ensure optimal forecasting, which should result in higher customer service, reduce inventory in the wrong location, and support reliable financial plans
  • Identify replenishment opportunities and liabilities, and strategically react to these changes in business trends
  • Analyze actual performance to the forecast and initiate appropriate corrective actions

The Successful Applicant

The Inventory Allocation Analyst must have:

  • BA/BS
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • High attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong skills with numbers and the ability to review large amounts of data in Excel
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Result-oriented and self-motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency
  • Proactive multitasker able to prioritize initiatives
  • Strong problem solving and data management skills
  • Exhibits high standards and accountability
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and effectively interact with multiple levels of management
