Job Description

As Leasing Consultant you will be responsible for marketing your own portfolio of properties to potential customers - you will have autonomy to create a proactive marketing strategy for each property in your portfolio.

You will manage all telephone enquiries, gain comprehensive knowledge of ALL assigned properties, lease expirations, rental rates, construction plans, building systems, building areas etc. and communicate any issues as they arise to the building / property manager.

You must get to know the local area to be able to demonstrate community and apartment knowledge to clients' needs by highlighting the features and benefits to close the sale. You must be organized and diligent in providing the best possible service to potential customers.

As well as this you will be required to:

  • Ensure apartment is ready for resident to move-in on agreed date
  • Immediately follow-up on prospects that did not close and attempt to close sale again. If not, find out reasons why they chose not to lease our units
  • Monitor advertising effectiveness
  • Gather information about market competition in the area and file
  • Inspect rent ready vacancies to insure cleanliness
  • Update online advertising to reflect current market pricing on a weekly basis
  • Handle all initial inquiries by potential tenants
  • Provide a thorough screening before arranging and completing suite showings
  • Perform the application preparation process
  • Direct the move-in process
  • Organize move-in and move-out process for tenants, issue keys, provide incoming inspections

The Successful Applicant

The Leasing Consultant MUST be an independent, motivated individual with the ability to manage your own time accordingly by prioritizing and multi-tasking.

You will display excellent interpersonal skills and be commercially savvy when closing a deal. You will be persuasive & consultative and highly customer focused.

You must have a creative side and be able to coordinate your own marketing strategy to promote apartments.
