Job Description

The Logistics Manager will be responsible to lead the Logistics Team and provide dynamic direction in regards to the domestic, import, and export Logistics processes and distribution systems, aassuring compliance with logistic target parameters - safety, short throughput times, and high adherence to customer delivery dates. The Logistics Manager will optimize projects of processes and the implementation of cost reducing methods considering the commercial and logistic targets of the company.

Day to day responsibilities include the following:

  • Promote Safe workplace rules and environment.
  • Set and attain budget
  • Ability to contribution to supply chain scorecard KPI's
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Ability to Travel Domestic/Internationally
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Head of Supply Chain Warehousing
  • Optimizing warehouse footprint while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Management of the warehouse supervisors
  • Negotiate contracts with external warehouse providers
  • Management of external warehouses Freight
  • Identify optimal freight carriers.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Manage claims procedure.
  • Develop long-term plan for freight.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, or related field.
  • Background must include a management role, preferably in a chemical environment, with responsibility for Logistics.
  • Responsibility for the professional and personal training and development of the employees.
  • Comprehensive knowledge including compliance of domestic and international logistics including import/export regulations and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of current certifications in international and domestic transport regulations
  • Inventory control methods
  • Knowledge of Freight contracts and tariffs, Warehousing & Distribution
  • Ability to lead and motivate high performing teams
  • Well developed analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in handling a budget plan and productivity indicators
  • Track record of managing staff
  • Flexible and able to deal with rapidly-changing situations
