Job Description

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Logistics Planner for this role. You will have proven experience in managing work flow, production lines, analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect overall distribution/inventory with in a manufacturing and environmental domain. You will also be experienced in sourcing products from an overseas supply base and have experience managing tactical buying teams. Must have understanding of local vendor base and product knowledge within energy and modernized technology. Other responsibilities include:

  • Development of supplier management strategies to ensure continuity of supply
  • Management of incoming product, including warehouse engagement
  • Perform shipment receipts at 3rd party sites
  • Perform various carrier transit schedules while updating ERP systems via AX Transport Module
  • Prepares and issues request for quotes to determine optimal purchases
  • Meet with suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, and transportation arrangements at the correct time and quality
  • Provide support to operations, engineering, and quality departments as needed
  • Execute cost improvements and report savings and other metrics as supplied by management
  • Manage multiple suppliers for long term relationships and continuous added value

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have previous procurement experience and extensive knowledge of consumer goods and retail/consumables divisions. Other requirements included:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 1-5 years of procurement experience
  • Experience with fast moving consumer goods related to production, scheduling, distribution, materials, and inventory/demand planning
  • Microsoft Professional Suite knowledge
  • Experience with ERP systems
