About Our Client
Our client is one of leading consumer services company based in the downtown Chicago area. They have a long tradition of giving high level of customer service, customer quality and pride in their industry. As part of their growth strategy, they have implemented a strategic vendor management group to focus on a higher level of supplier engagement, supplier relationship building and ultimately enhanced supplier performance.
The Manager, IT Vendor Management will be responsible hiring and leading a small team within the IT Vendor Management Group, to focus on core suppliers and partnering closely with the Technology and procurement teams. They will also be taking the lead on engagement with the larger vendors within the IT group, with a particular focus on vendor performance, engagement, compliance across all categories within IT (Software, Hardware, Telecom/Network, Services). Unique to the company, the IT Vendor Manager will be involved in early contractual negotiations and meetings, adding input on key deliverables, risk compliance and critical service level agreements. The Manager, IT Vendor Management will also engage with VP's to CTO of the company on all new technology projects, offering solutions to existing projects as well as new projects from a supplier management standpoint.
The Successful Applicant
The Manager, IT Vendor Management will have 2 to 3 years experience managing vendor management / supplier management teams, ideally within IT. They will also have 5 to 7 years within IT Vendor Management with a core focus on strategic vendor management and partnership within the IT / Technology teams. They will have a strong background in managing IT vendor service agreements (SLA's, KPI's etc.) across either software, hardware, IT Services or Telecom/Network categories and with major suppliers in the industry. The Manager, IT Vendor Management will also have 2 to 3 years exposure within risk mitigation, compliance and an equal level of experience in supplier relationship building inside a medium to large size organization. They will be proactive in approaching their team and internal stake holders on solutions to existing problems, with a detailed focus on how the IT Vendor Management team can add better value to the business.
