Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

New Product Development

  1. Work with a team of engineers to ensure all manufacturing requirements/limitations are taken into account from the initial product conception to product launch
  2. Analyze and recommend product design changes for ease of manufacturing to reduce cost, improve quality or reduce time to market
  3. Identify and implement new process/equipment required to meet the goals of the project
  4. Identify new tooling requirements and make recommendations for the most effective implementation
  5. Coordinate with manufacturing site Alpha Runs, beta and pre-production runs

Continuous Improvement

  1. Take part in Kaizen events
  2. Identify opportunities and Champion them through completion
  3. Liaison between plant personnel and engineering to help facilitate improvements in productivity, cost, quality and ease of manufacture

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to use CAD software is required, Solid Works is preferred
  • Ability to use Engineering Economics analysis for decision making process required
  • Ability to understand and apply FMEA, Cpk and gage R&R analysis for manufacturing processes preferred

The Successful Applicant

The preferred candidate for the Manufacturing Engineer will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering - REQUIRED
  • 5-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering, in a manufacturing environment - REQUIRED
  • Experience with Injection Molding Plastics, sheet metal fabrication, and manual-automation assembly - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • Experience in lean manufacturing methodologies (lean six-sigma) is preferred
