About Our Client

Our client for the Regional Sales Manager role is for a major manufacturer of industrial transformers and power conversion systems. The Company's key markets include industrial heating and heat treatment, motor drive systems, and medical equipment. Their products support multiple global manufacturers and are a leader within the North American Region.

Job Description

As the Regional Sales Manager you will be responsible for selling industrial to existing customers and prospective clients. This individual will be responsible for maintaining existing business while, more importantly, adding new sales in assigned territory. This person will be selling into OEMs and End Users. Our client needs an individual that will bring a hunter mindset to the position. Additionally, they must be able to organize travel in multi-state territory. This person must come from a technical manufacturing sales environment.

  • Prospect and develop relationships with new clients within an assigned territory.
  • Consult with clients to determine their needs and priorities. Provide written proposals for testing, commissioning, and engineering services.
  • Deliver oral presentations to support written proposals for potential projects.
  • Serve as primary contact for new and existing customers in the assigned region.
  • Coordinate and oversee work through utilization of administrative assistant, field personnel, and operations manager.
  • Coordinate with administrative personnel to prepare accurate customer billing.
  • Coordinate with Director for annual reviews and hiring of new personnel.
  • Exhibit a professional presentation when dealing with employees, clients, and suppliers

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-5 years of technical sales experience in the electrical or power distribution industry.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of market dynamics and have the ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing market environment.
  • Knowledge or aptitude of electrical industrial equipment including transformers, chokes, ballasts, variable frequency drives, inductors, etc.
  • Experience or aptitude with a wide variety of electrical apparatus used in the electrical industry, including protection & control equipment, transformers, breakers, and switchgear.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
