Job Description

Our client is seeking an Operational Risk Analyst with the following background in financial services:

  • Assist in drafting processes and procedures in collaboration with legal, compliance, risk management, and other relevant teams.
  • Assist in implementing and following up with Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) regarding areas of improvement and further development.
  • Help with changing corporate culture; establish methods to assure compliance with new programs and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Oversee, review and analyze internal and external data loss. Advise feasible solutions to prevent data loss in the future.
  • Document, complete templates, and report into firm database.
  • Oversee operational risk procedures and provide reports on critical findings.
  • Communicate any major risk events to applicable parties, and advise on action plan to resolve and prevent future reoccurrences.
  • Other tasks will include :
    • IT and Vendor Risk analysis
    • Business continuity Management
    • Material Risk Program
    • Preparation of Daily Dashboards
    • KPI, KRI, and other metrics reporting exercises
    • Data quality assurance

The Successful Applicant

Our client is seeking an Operational Risk Analyst possessing the following skills:

  • BS/BA Degree in economics, finance or related discipline
  • Advanced degree, MBA or MS Finance preferred
  • Minimum two years of Operational Risk , Audit , or Broker Dealer Operations experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Access and Excel
  • Active contributor to a team environment and thrives in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and execute multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skill
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Specialized Knowledge:
  • VBA and SQL programing skills required
  • Good knowledge of financial products (especially Equity and Fixed Income)
