About Our Client

My client is a leading transporation company near Santa Monica.

Job Description

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a large service center for mobile equipment
  • Budget management and P&L responsibility
  • Developing effective service & maintenance programs
  • Implementing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve vehicle turnaround times and fleet readiness
  • Ensuring work is performed in line with HSEQ regulations and policies
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service
  • Work shift planning and schedules
  • Implementing lean processes and optimizing performance
  • Managing purchasing operations for parts, materials, fuel etc.
  • Training and development of staff
  • Managing staff and union relations / negotiations

The Successful Applicant

My client is looking for:

  • 10 years+ service centre management experience
  • Strong experience in managing vehicular maintenance programs (ideally prior technical experience)
  • Technical designation (HET, journeyman etc)
  • Ideally performance improvement / lean six sigma training
  • Strong leadership and training ability
  • Experience working within a unionized environment
