Job Description

Improve manufacturing process and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency, while ensuring performance, on-time delivery, cost control, and quality goals are attained.

Manage policy development in the areas of Lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.

Identify, communicate and drive implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.

Promote an atmosphere of Safety, comply with company, state, and federal health, safety and environmental regulations. Implement and maintain the Safety program.

Lead the company's Lean transformation.

Direct and coordinate all plant functions including Manufacturing, Materials, Production Control, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Planning, to assure common direction toward plant goals.

Guide and support the plant quality system in procedures and controls to improve overall customer satisfaction, DPPM, first pass yield and warranty results.

Guide and support plant maintenance, facilities and mfg eng. improvements, process improvements, facility improvements and capital expenditures.

Guide and support plant resources in meeting material and labor productivity plans.

Work with cross functional team to create the plant's Annual Operating Plan and business's financial forecasts and response plans.

Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization in order to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, high levels of morale, and high employee engagement.

Must be able to lead, motivate, train, and discipline employees.

Oversee the process of inventory goods that arrive from manufacturer.

Make sure that all employees have been provided proper materials and information to ensure safety.

Safety of all warehouse individuals (including OSHA requirements)

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline; MEng or MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of related work experience and a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/plant operations leadership role preferably as the plant manager of a medium to small sized non-union shop.
  • Experience implementing a Lean culture.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem solving methodology
  • Strong project management skills with successful experience influencing cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all levels within an organization.
  • Inclusive leadership style with a focus on personal involvement, trust and flexibility.
  • Able to present in front of large groups, deal with ambiguity and demonstrate composure in stressful situations where competing priorities must be managed. Self starter with experience leveraging analytic and tools to quickly identify areas of significant opportunity.
