About Our Client
A regional insurance holding company based in Branchville, New Jersey, and provides property and casualty insurance products and insurance services to customers in the United States through its subsidiaries.
Use directed and undirected modeling techniques in the development and testing of sophisticated predictive models in all areas of insurance. Examples include claims, growth opportunities, marketing, underwriting, pricing, expense reduction and many others.
Work with our IT partners to develop solid modeling database files and thoroughly analyze and test the data in order to identify issues that could potentially have an impact on the model results. Develop unique solutions to any data integrity issues.
Utilize text mining techniques in order to take full advantage of available unstructured data during the data science and model building process.
Work closely with members of various interdepartmental teams seeking to identify and implement new initiatives based on data science/predictive modeling solutions.
Design and present data science and predictive modeling project results to management and the project team.
Use statistical techniques to enhance the value of existing databases with unique data modeling, analysis, and integration opportunities.
Utilize appropriate statistical software and features in existing predictive modeling software in order to identify new techniques, business rules solutions or other applications for projects.
The Successful Applicant
Strong statistical, general analytical, and logic skills, plus a range of data science and predictive modeling experience using appropriate statistical software applications.
Must be detail-oriented and be able to understand and use large flat files and relational databases.
Must have expertise using statistical analysis techniques including multivariate methods: (OLS, GLM, Logit/Probit, GLZ, Trees, Survival, etc.), experimental design, and optimization.
Must be proficient in MS Word, Access, and Excel.
Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
College degree required (prefer graduate degree) in statistics, mathematics, business, or related field.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in data science, statistical analysis and data modeling.
5 years of experience with statistical softwares.
Insurance industry experience preferred.
