Job Description

As the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for the Buyers in the team.

Other responsibilities include:-

  • Develop and implement the purchasing strategies with key suppliers.
  • Develop and implement requests for proposals (RFPs) for equipment, plants, parts and services. Lead negotiations of supplier agreements and purchase orders (POs)
  • Use strong teamwork and cross functional skills to implement effective decision making techniques and processes regarding bidding and sourcing activities.
  • Develop business partnership relationships with vendors. Enhance the relationships to promote value added services, quality or pricing advantages, along with efficient order processing techniques.
  • Understanding of purchasing systems, processes and procedures.
  • Experience in purchasing concrete, ready mix or aggregates

The Successful Applicant

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 7-10 years of materials related experience with a thorough understanding of the concrete, Aggregate or Ready Mix industry
  • Negotiations and contracting experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Understanding of finance fundamentals
