About Our Client

Our client is a rapidly expanding international company in the Greater Los Angeles area. After strong growth, the company is looking to hire a Purchasing / Procurement Specialist with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Job Description

- Coordinating purchasing activities with manufacturing in cost effective and timely manner

- Providing cost savings analysis or alternative sourcing proposals

- Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers with a strong emphasis on timelines and accuracy

- Monitors cost and shipping schedule for assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value

- Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive

The Successful Applicant

- BA/BS with an emphasis in purchasing, business or operations

- 3+ years of experience in purchasing / procurement / sourcing

- Vendor Relationship Management experience

- Ability to negotiate with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over-shipment

- Experience with materials management using ERP systems
