Job Description

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, recommend, implement and monitor improvements for process capability, stability and controls.
  • Perform root cause analysis that may involve designing and conducting experiments to understand and improve process capability, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Interact with daily production team to become familiar with key issues in the area of responsibility with both short & long-term solutions.
  • Write Design of Experiment (DOE) for new and modified processes
  • Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other statistical techniques to analyze process data to determine capabilities as well as potential improvements
  • Work with QA to establish and maintain consistent part quality and systems through SPC and DOE studies

The Successful Applicant

Position Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering (Plastics or Mechanical are first preferences) and ten years' experience in a technical role within a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of plastics processing (sheet extrusion and thermoforming) helpful
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability using reliable methods
  • General knowledge of statistics, including application of capability studies
  • Six Sigma (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt) and/or Lean Manufacturing certification desirable
  • Familiarity with cleanroom (GMP) manufacturing processes helpful.

What's on Offer

The position is a six month contract with a strong possibility moving to a permanent role.
