Job Description

Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility is to improve the quality, stability and consistency of company products and processes by performing a combination of the following:

  • Champion data driven decisions to achieve cost reduction, problem solutions and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Investigates new processes, methods, innovations and testing techniques to continuously improve process quality and production efficiencies.
  • Specifies, supports and troubleshoots necessary tooling, fixtures, equipment, documentation and related training as required to maintain plant production and testing operations.
  • Reviews and evaluates new product designs and major product changes for feasibility and impact to processes, tooling, testing and quality.
  • Prepares feasibility and ROI analyses, submits requests for expenditure and leads implementation and pre-production run-off activities.
  • Responsible for quality improvement and cost reduction of existing products.
  • Responsible for determining critical quality requirements in scale up of new products leading to commercialization.
  • Develops training and delivers training to key personnel to maximize effective quality utilization.
  • Adhere to safe working conditions and strictly enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as specified

The Successful Applicant

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Chemistry is required
  • 3-5 years' experience as a quality engineer
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Specialty chemical / batch manufacturing experience preferred
  • ASQ Certified and Six Sigma training preferred
