Job Description

Our client is seeking a Regional Director of Sales for the Northeast territory from Maryland to Maine and Ohio. The Director of Sales will be an individual contributor role tasked with penetrating and developing key customer contacts and relationships to achieve the company's goals and objectives. Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Retain and expand the Northeast customer base. (Current customers include Ahold, Wakefern, Wegman's, Whole Foods, Giant Eagle, Price Chopper, C&S Wholesale equaling approximately 2,300,000 pounds annually).
  • Leads and directs the effort to penetrate & develop key customer contacts and relationships, resulting in successful achievement of the Company's strategic goals & objectives
  • Monitor progress through sales reports, recommend adjustments and implement strategies to achieve the company's goals.
  • Responsible for brokers within assigned territory and providing support to enable them to achieve the company's sales goals and planned strategies. Possess product and industry knowledge and serve as a technical resource.
  • Travel to and attend local and national trade shows.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred with a minimum of 10 + years related sales experience.
  • Sales experience within the food industry specifically with proteins/meats
  • Knowledge of and key account contacts in the retail trade channel
  • Experience in direct sales management and key account management
  • Experience in the management of Food Brokers
  • Requires strong reading, writing, communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Power Point, Excel and capable of clearly communicating business in a presentation format.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time
