Job Description

Reporting into the Vice President of Regulatory Capital Reporting, the role's main duties and responsibilities will be as follows within the Bank:

  • Prepare FR-Y14Q/M work papers in accordance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements and instructions
  • Prepare reconciliations of the regulatory reports to the general ledger
  • Assist with reviews, examinations, and audits impacting the Regulatory Capital Reporting Department, including those performed by Bank Regulatory Agencies (FRB, OCC) and SHUSA Internal Audit
  • Respond to audit recommendations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Deliver complete and accurate reports to management for review, and provide timely responses to address questions prior to submission deadlines
  • Maintain the desktop procedures documentation supporting the regulatory reports to ensure that revisions are up to date
  • Research and appropriately incorporate new regulatory instructions into the assigned regulatory reports
  • Follow internal controls requirements to validate and ensure the completeness of the assigned schedules
  • Identify, investigate and communicate inconsistencies and data issues to the attention of management in a timely manner, while able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adhere to MIS and Accounting Systems' processes that enable the Company and Regulatory Capital Reporting Department to reach its goals
  • Effectively work and communicate with other departments in the company to achieve Regulatory Capital Reporting objectives

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required
  • Banking experience in Finance or Risk management reporting is required, and previous regulatory reporting experience filing the FR Y-14 is strongly preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint) including above average Excel skills are required, and experience with Access, VBA, or SQL is a plus
  • The ability to research, organize, and analyze financial data is required
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational, qualitative, and analytical skills
  • Must possess the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment, as well as to have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Must be able to think critically
