About Our Client

Industry leading real estate investment firm based in Manhattan.

Job Description

  • Responsible for ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all fund level and related investment level financial reporting for a fund or funds.
  • Preparation of quarterly fund financial statements and annual audited fund financial statements on a GAAP and fair value basis (including Investment Company Guidelines).
  • Preparation of quarterly fund investor reporting packages, which include quarterly fund financial statements, asset summaries, net asset value calculations and analytical information.
  • Closing of the books and records of a fund or funds, monthly and quarterly, within the required internal timeline.
  • Preparation of general and limited partner distributions/contributions in accordance with the fund documents and partnership agreements.
  • Calculation of the fund waterfall and promote schedules.
  • Calculation of the monthly fund asset management fees.
  • Participation in management meetings and providing schedules of fund variance analysis and explanations as needed.
  • Preparation of detailed annual fund forecasts and five-year plans with the appropriate support.
  • Involvement in specialized projects and supporting schedules.

The Successful Applicant

The Assistant Fund Controller should be a highly motivated individual with strong analytical and interpersonal skills. This individual should be detail oriented with hands on real estate experience and must be a team player.



Additional Qualifications include:

  • A mix of public and private real estate and fund accounting experience.
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to operate computer systems and effectively input and download pertinent information.
  • Experience with real estate accounting software (MRI preferred).
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Creative problem solver.



Background:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
  • Minimum of five to seven years public and private real estate accounting experience (fund accounting experience preferred).
