About Our Client
My client is an industry leader in the manufacturing space. They were established in 1966 and have global operations. To date they export to over 15 countries and are looking to establish US Operations. Headquarters will be in Los Angeles, CA and a showroom will also be based there. Their products sell through multiple channels including: retail, wholesale, and independent retailers.
Establish and manage sales goals by territory, rep and account, driving top line revenue growth while maintaining or improving margins
Review revenue / SKU sales forecasts, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions to ensure annual sales and operational plans are achieved
Establish operating procedures and strategies.
Manage and achieve new business targets, ensuring we maintain our premium market positioning in the stationary goods space.
Analyze market / product trends, driving opportunities for new business growth
Gather and provide market feedback to appropriate internal teams including but not limited to product, operations, finance and executive management team
Attend / drive all relevant sales meetings, clinics, expos, trade shows, and conferences as required
Hire, coach and train-Store management and associates on operational processes, merchandising standards, sales strategy, and profitability. Store leadership by creating a safe working environment and operational excellence
The Successful Applicant
7+ years in Manufacturing/Wholesale Sales management / direct retail sales experience
Requires a strong understanding of how a business operates
Proven ability to set and hit sales growth targets in an entrepreneurial environment
Experience managing / supporting inside and outside sales rep organizations
Ability to create and develop strong customer relationships in a multi-channel environment
Ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-growing and highly demanding environment
Natural curiosity to develop new business and accelerate customer acquisition
Prior experience in a STATIONARY/PARTY SUPPLY space, with INDUSTRY CONTACTS, and ability to hit deadlines and set financial targets
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret and communicate retail sales performance and market trend information
Strong track record of developing strong cross-departmental partnerships with Finance, Demand Planning, Marketing, Product and Operations teams
Superior judgment and analytical skills.
A highly organized mindset with a strong attention to detail
Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM Software a plus.
Experience with an ERP; NetSuite preferred
